Plans for Skolkovo startup tour in Minsk in 2020

MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Alexander Shumilin and Chairman of the Russian foundation Skolkovo Arkady Dvorkovich have discussed the possibility of arranging a startup tour in Minsk in 2020, BelTA has learned.

The Skolkovo Foundation has already held startup tours in Minsk in 2015 and 2016. Those tours attracted about 900 projects by Belarusian developers. One of them – Turbosphere – reached the final stage of the contest.

Alexander Shumilin and Arkady Dvorkovich also discussed prospects of including Belarusian companies in clusters of the Skolkovo Foundation with a view to advancing cooperation and promoting Belarusian technologies onto the Russian market, including in the sphere of information and communication technologies, biomedicine, and energy.

The State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus and the Skolkovo Foundation signed an agreement on cooperation in science, technology, and innovation in 2012. Cooperation also relies on agreements with the organizations accountable to the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus: the National Center of Intellectual Property and the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support for Scientific and Technical Sphere (BELISA).

The Skolkovo Foundation takes an active part in the work of the interstate council for cooperation in science, technology, and innovation and acts as an operator of the CIS interstate innovative cooperation program for the period till 2020.
