BREST, 11 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Slovakia are mulling over a joint agricultural company in Brest Oblast, Slovakia’s Ambassador to Belarus Jozef Migas said at the opening of the 4th international forum of business contacts Brest 2019 on 11 April, BelTA has learned.
The parties have been working on the project for a few years already. “We have been looking for partners in Belarus, Slovak investors for three years. At present we are busy with developing a large agricultural enterprise in Brest Oblast. I think that we will get a positive result soon,” said Josef Migas.
According to the diplomat, Belarus and Slovakia are increasing cooperation. Last year the mutual trade went up by 30% in comparison with 2017. “We can do more and we are moving forward. We have projects that are currently under implementation and start bringing effect on the mutual trade. For example, we have set up deliveries of our wine. Brest is the first Belarusian city where these products are on sale now. We are interested in closer contacts with the city and Brest Oblast,” the ambassador stressed. Josef Migas added that there are plans to reopen the Honorary Consulate of Slovakia in Brest in May.
The forum of business contacts, which is underway at the Brest Athletics Center on 11-12 April, has welcomed about 200 guests from 20 countries. Many delegations comprise both businessmen and diplomats.
