Opinion: Business ideas based on natural riches can accelerate the development of regions

MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – Business ideas relying on natural riches contribute to the accelerated development of the regions, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Anzhelika Nikitina.

A number of Belarusian farm stays had a doors open day last Saturday. Tourists could visit picturesque farms in various parts of the country and get familiar with the broad choice of services they offer. “We definitely see positive trends in this industry. The demand for services of farm stays is on the rise. We have a positive contribution to the economy as a result. Hence we saw a massive increase in investments in the sphere of recreation in H1 2021, twice as much as in H1 2020,” Anzhelika Nikitina said.

The official noted that the domestic tourism industry has large reserves for development in the current conditions. Its long-term prospects are analyzed by a teaser review the National Agency of Investment and Privatization has prepared. In essence it is the first time existing and potential clusters have been identified on the basis of detected recreational resources, the existing infrastructure, and investment needs.

Anzhelika Nikitina went on saying: “By the way, experts of the BIK Ratings agency have put together the top 10 most promising investment projects from the agency’s database. The list includes a proposal to reconstruct a tourist camp on the bank of Rudakovo Lake. This place is in the heartland of Belarus’ tourism – Naroch Lake area. The location steadily attracts people and trained personnel are available. Which means the project will recoup investments fast in the hands of an experienced and responsible investor. Such business ideas contribute to the accelerated development of territories thanks to their own inexhaustible resource – natural riches.”
