Opinion: Belarus, Dubai have great prospects in trade

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarus has a great potential to boost trade with Dubai, Director of the National Marketing Center Valery Sadokho said during a video conference with top executives of Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of the Emirate of Dubai, BelTA learned from the press service of the center.

Valery Sadokho pointed out that bilateral trade holds great promise in view of Belarus’ leading positions in export of food and engineering products.

Belarusian manufacturers could tap into the logistics potential of the Emirate of Dubai and use the capabilities of Dubai Exports to supply their products to the UAE and reexport them to other African and Asian countries, head of the export services department Abdel Rahman Al Hosani stressed.

The parties discussed cooperation between the two agencies to implement the memorandum of mutual understanding. The participants of the meeting decided to exchange business proposals from exporters that meet the demands of the Belarusian and UAE markets in order to find the most promising products for shipment to Belarus and the UAE.

The parties also mulled over organizing a joint event for Belarusian exporters that eye the markets of the Persian Gulf, Asia, and Africa in 2020.

The video conference also featured Charge d'Affaires of Belarus to the UAE Yevgeny Lazarev.

Dubai Exports is an agency affiliated the Department of Economic Development of the Emirate of Dubai that is responsible for assisting the UAE exporters and importers in establishing cooperation with foreign partners.
