Ninety Belarusian companies willing to take part in China International Import Expo

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – As many as 90 Belarusian companies are eager to take part in the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich told journalists as he took part in the press conference to discuss export support in BelTA’s press center on 16 September.
The expo is scheduled for November 2020. “We hope that the expo will take place after all, but our Chinese partners are still unable to confirm this. We have done our part, compiling a list of participants from Belarus that comprises 90 enterprises. We have also designed the national stand that will resemble Mir Castle. We are waiting for the response from the Chinese partners to sign the financial documents and move on with the preparations. Despite the difficult situation and all the challenges caused by the pandemic, representatives of Belarusian companies are ready to go to Shanghai,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.
Belarusian enterprises have suffered from border closure more than from the pandemic itself, Vladimir Ulakhovich noted. “All business life was blocked, but we still managed to do a lot even in these conditions. We did not suspend our activities even for a day and, starting from April, have held 200 events together with our regional offices. All exhibitions have been moved online,” he said. For example, the TeMEx international industrial online expo will be running from 14 October 2020 to 14 January 2021.
The TeMEx expo will bring together companies from various countries and will showcase latest products of various industries, from large machines and raw materials suppliers to R&D, IT, and automation solutions. The name of the event stands for Technology and Machinery Expo. Its key motto – Every Link Counts! – emphasizes the connection between the national industry of every country and the global economic ecosystem.
The program of the online expo will include business events featuring representatives of government authorities and companies from various countries. Belarus will be represented at the event by the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), the mechanical engineering companies Amkodor, BelAZ, and MAZ, the steel mill BMZ, Minsk Electrotechnical Plant named after V.I. Kozlov, and the lift manufacturer Mogilevliftmash.
