MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – ZAO Eurasian Railway Gateway has become a new resident of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, the park’s press service told BelTA.

The company will implement an investment project that provides for building a bimodal railway terminal in the industrial park. Taking part in the project are the German company Duisburger Hafen AG (the managing company of Duisport, which is the world’s largest inland port), ZAO China Merchants CHN-BLR Commerce and Logistics, the Brest branch of Belarusian Railways, and Hupac Intermodal SA (Europe’s largest network operator of intermodal transportation).

Once the railway terminal reaches the designed capacity, the volume of freight transportation will be 180,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).

The construction of the railway terminal is supposed to begin in 2021.

The park’s priority development areas include mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, new materials, logistics, digital commerce, big data storage and processing.
