MTZ set to increase supplies of tractors to Pakistan

MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) – Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) has plans to increase the supplies of tractors to Pakistan by one third, MAZ deputy marketing director for non-CIS countries Alexander Kazakevich told journalists before the session of the Belarus-Pakistan intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation on 7 August, BelTA has learned.

“We are determined to boost our sales and to start supplying assembly kits rather than ready-made tractors. We want to focus on assembling and closer cooperation. As for the volume of trade, we sold around 3,000 tractors last year. This year we expect to export some 4,000 vehicles,” Alexander Kazakevich noted.

Minsk Tractor Works was founded in 1946. It is part of the system of enterprises run by the Belarusian Industry Ministry. The company offers over 120 models and modifications of tractors and vehicles with over 200 options for all kinds of climatic and operational conditions. For the last few years MTZ has kept an 8-10% share of the global market of wheeled tractors. MTZ has assembly enterprises in Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, China, Romania, Egypt, Serbia, Algeria, Venezuela, and other countries. The industrial group MTZ comprises 11 enterprises.
