More Belarusian homes to be built in Russian Kaluga in September

MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – Plans have been made to start building a new Belarusian block in the Russian city of Kaluga, BelTA learned from Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Cherny on 4 August.

According to the source, Belarus’ top civil engineering contractor MAPID intends to start building a house in Kaluga in September. Two Belarusian integrated home-building factories are now working over there. “MAPID worked in the area in the past and is coming back now. We will virtually begin building a new Belarusian block in Kaluga where MAPID and other companies will work,” noted Anatoly Cherny.

In his words, due to the shortage of financial assets available for housing construction Belarusian construction companies are having difficulties with their workload. “It is necessary to find work for them since their construction capacity is large. As far as permanent panel housebuilding is concerned, some companies are operating at 100% of their capacity while MAPID is operating at about 80% of its capacity,” stated the Architecture and Construction Minister.
