Mohamed Alabbar: Northern Waterfront smart city in Minsk will be one of world’s best projects

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Emaar Properties is running one of the world’s best projects in Minsk, Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of the company, told reporters in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

On 26 August Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev and Mohamed Alabbar discussed the construction of the Northern Waterfront smart city in Minsk. “During the meeting, we discussed the project, its design, and soon we will present the project in its entirety. We discussed in detail the quality of life in the complex. Anyone can build housing, but it is a much more difficult task to create a perfect living environment around it. When implementing the project, we will use the most advanced technology and artificial intelligence, and we will be as environmentally friendly as possible. The complex will offer entertainment to suit every taste - music, theater, even the beach. We have implemented many projects over the past 25 years, but this will be one of the best projects in the world,” Mohamed Alabbar said.

According to Vladimir Kukharev, legal details of the project were thoroughly studied and analyzed. The practical aspects of the project were in focus on 26 August. The parties discussed the construction of office buildings, an exhibition center and a financial technology center. “Right now, exploration works are underway on the premises. In the near future, 3D concepts for all buildings on the site will be presented. After that it will be possible to proceed to construction works,” the mayor informed.

The Northern Waterfront multifunctional complex will be built within the boundaries of the Minsk Ring Road, Pobeditelei Avenue, Orlovskaya Street and Tsnyanskoye Water Reservoir. The project is estimated at €4 billion. The complex will include residential buildings with all the necessary engineering and transport infrastructure, social infrastructure facilities and public facilities with a total area of more than six million square meters, as well as the International Exhibition Center, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, the Minsk World Trade Center. The project will span 2021-2040.
