Mogilev Oblast plans to sign contracts worth $132m at Belarus-Russia forum of regions

MOGILEV, 11 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Mogilev Oblast intends to sign export contracts worth over $132 million with Russian partners at the 8th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, Mogilev Oblast Vice Governor Ruslan Strakhar told BelTA.

“Mogilev Oblast is preparing for the 8th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. Local enterprises expect to sign export contracts with Russian partners worth a total of over $132 million,” Ruslan Strakhar noted.

Mogilev Oblast also intends to sign a number of important agreements with representatives of Russian regional authorities at the forum. The Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee and the government of Samara Oblast plan to sign an agreement on cooperation in trade, economic, science, technology, and humanitarian affairs. Plans are also in place to sign the action plan for 2022-2024 to execute the agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, culture, and social affairs between the Belarusian government and the administration of Russia’s Primorsky Krai. “Mogilev Oblast acts as the coordinator of cooperation between Belarus and Russia’s Primorsky Krai,” the vice governor pointed out.

The Bobruisk City Hall is set to conclude cooperation agreements with the city of Syzran in Samara Oblast and with the city of Ussuriysk in Primorsky Krai.

The Mogilev Oblast Council of Deputies will also take part in the 8th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. “There are plans to sign a cooperation agreement with Tula Oblast Duma,” Ruslan Strakhar noted.

Mogilev Oblast Governor Leonid Zayats will be one of the speakers at the forum. He will make a report on “Cooperation in science and technology at the interregional level as a factor of sustainable development of the Union State [of Belarus and Russia]”.

The 8th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia will be running from 29 June to 1 July. It will focus on R&D cooperation in the age of digitization.
