Mogilev Oblast counts on further cooperation with the UK

MOGILEV, 10 April (BelTA) - Mogilev Oblast counts on further cooperation with the UK, Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Belarus Bruce Bucknell on 9 April, BelTA has learned.

“The example of successful doing business of Mogilev Oblast with many countries says that we are open to a dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation,” the Governor stressed.

In 2014 the UK invested about $53 million in Mogilev Oblast. “We are happy that these investments work in the economic sector of our region today. We count on further cooperation with the UK,” Vladimir Domanevsky noted.

In turn, Bruce Bucknell thanked the Mogilev Oblast authorities for a warm welcome and said that this trip had left good impressions on him. As for the UK-Mogilev Oblast joint business, the Ambassador noted that he was interested in business development prospects in Mogilev. “The main investment projects are in Minsk today. We are interested, however, in building business in other regions of Belarus,” Bruce Bucknell said.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Belarus Bruce Bucknell came to Mogilev to attend the opening ceremony of the Information and Education Center of the English Language and Culture at the Mogilev State Kuleshov University. The diplomat talked to students and gave a lecture on the English language development trends and the impact of the language on world events.
