Minsk to host Expo-Russia Belarus on 24-26 November

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The international forum Expo-Russia Belarus 2015 will be running in Minsk from 24 through 26 November, BelTA learned from the organizers of the event.

Partaking in the expo will be specialists working in such fields as power engineering, including nuclear-power engineering, machine building, oil and gas production, construction, transport, telecommunications, insurance, agriculture, and education.

The business program of the forum includes a conference on the expansion of cooperation in economy and innovations between Belarus and Russia in the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union, and also roundtables, a meeting of the Russian-Belarusian Business Council, and a business match-making session.

During the roundtables, the experts will discuss the current matters of cooperation between Belarus and Russia in production of nuclear power and also traditional and alternative energy, development of power-saving technologies, transport cooperation in the Union State, and cooperation in telecommunications. The prospects for increasing the import of foods, including fruit and vegetables from Belarus to Russia in the context of the EU sanctions, will also be discussed. Besides, the items on the agenda include the Belarus-Russia cooperation in the development of medical equipment, prevention of the spread of counterfeit medicines, and prospects for bolstering cooperation in higher education and vocational training.

The expo will feature expositions by Russia’s Chuvashia, Mordovia, Ryazan Oblast, Kaluga Oblast, Lipetsk Oblast, Rostov Oblast, Tyumen Oblast, Saratov Oblast, Samara Oblast, the city of Novosibirsk, and the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. The organizers received some 400 applications for participation from Belarusian and Russian enterprises of different forms of ownership.

The expo has been organized by OAO ZarubezhExpo, and co-organized by the International Association of Peace Foundations (Russia) and the national exhibition center BelExpo (Belarus) with the support of the Federation Council, the State Duma, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Energy Ministry, the Ministry of Health, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russian Embassy in Belarus, the International Association of Peace Foundations, the National Assembly of Belarus, the Belarusian ministries, the Supreme State Council and other agencies of the Belarus-Russia Union State, the CIS Executive Committee, the CIS Economic Council, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Russian-Belarusian Business Council.

The expo is aimed at strengthening the economic, humanitarian, social, cultural, and political ties between Russia and Belarus.
