Minsk, Russia's Novosibirsk to resume direct flights

NOVOSIBIRSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Direct air service between Minsk and Russia's Novosibirsk will be resumed, Governor of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast Vladimir Gorodetsky told the media as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on 27 September, BelTA has learned.

“The negotiations are almost over. It is likely that the air service will be launched by a Russian company in March,” Vladimir Gorodetsky noted.

Speaking about cooperation with Belarus in general, the Novosibirsk Oblast governor emphasized that the sides had done a lot to boost trade. They need, however, to look for new avenues of cooperation, Vladimir Gorodetsky remarked. For instance, Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast can co-promote new health technologies, which are now being tested at the Innovative Medical Technology Center in Novosibirsk, and also nanomaterials.

Agribusiness has been developing rapidly in Novosibirsk Oblast, too. In this context, Belarus’ experience would be helpful. “Technical modernization is necessary. We import Belarusian grain and forage harvesters every year. This is why we believe that Belarusian products are highly competitive in terms of price and quality. We will develop interaction in this field,” Vladimir Gorodetsky clarified.
