MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast administration and the government of Russia’s Arkhangelsk Oblast intend to sign a roadmap on implementing the agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation within the framework of the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, the press service of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.

Apart from that, agreements on cooperation between the Minsk Oblast Council of Deputies and the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and between the Minsk Oblast Council of Deputies and the Legislative Assembly of Russia’s Orenburg Oblast have been reconciled and are ready for signing.

The Economy Committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA that so far Minsk Oblast has signed agreements and protocols on cooperation with 42 Russian regions. Apart from that, 103 international documents on interregional cooperation between administrative units of Russia and district administrations and city administrations of Minsk Oblast are in effect.

In January-September 2020 contracts worth $508.7 million were signed or were prepared for signing, including $63.7 million worth of contracts in August and $39.5 million worth of contracts in September. In January-July 2020 Minsk Oblast’s trade with Russia totaled $2.4 billion, with export exceeding $1.5 billion. Minsk Oblast had a foreign trade surplus of $635.2 million.

The main exporters are Slutsk Cheese-Making Plant, BelAZ, BelGee, the Nesvizh baby food factory, the Smolevichi broiler poultry farm, Minsk Dairy Plant No.1, AluminTechno, and other companies.

The traditional exports that sell well in Russia include food (cheese and quark cheese, butter, milk and cream, poultry meat), cars and other vehicles for transporting people, parts and equipment for trucks and tractors.
