MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) - Minsk Motor Plant is implementing a new promising project together with Russia’s largest engineering and industrial group Concern Tractor Plants (CTP) to equip Agromash-85TK tractor with a Belarusian engine, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ trademark).

Concern Tractor Plants (CTP) has invited the Minsk Motor Plant to team up to develop an engine for the Agromash-85TK tractor, which will go into large-scale production soon. Previously, the tractor was equipped with the diesel engines of Vladimir Motor Tractor Plant. The customer has made a number of specific requirements for the engine: 84hp, the rate of rotation of 2100 rpm, torque backup of 30%, while the standard specifications for the Minsk engines are 2200, 2400, 1800rpm and 15-20%. This means that the Minsk manufacturer needed to design a new engine modification.

The D-245S3AM engine has been selected as the base model. Comprehensive work has been undertaken to adapt the engine to specific technical parameters, which required designing new parts: fuel pump, injectors and many others. The work was carried out in the shortest period and required innovation and novel design solutions. The work on the new modification of the engine has entered the home stretch. The customer was sent a 3D model of the engine. Consultations between the two companies are in progress.

This year, CTP plans to buy two prototypes of the new engine for trials. In the future, CTP plans to gradually increase the acquisition of MMZ engines to reach their number to 2,500 engines by 2025.

The Russian concern unites more than 20 industrial, engineering, trading, and service enterprises (Onega Tractor Plant, Volgograd Tractor Plant, Vladimir Motor Tractor Plant, Altai Motor Plant, and others). CTP production activities include industrial, utility, agricultural and railway machine building, as well as the production of spare parts and components. The products are in demand in the mining industry, road and infrastructure construction, oil and gas sector, railway industry and agriculture.

Minsk Motor Plant is a producer of modern diesel, gas-diesel and gas-fueled engines. The company specializes in the development, design and manufacture of modern three-, four-, six- and eight-cylinder engines. The company produces more than 100 modifications of engines ranging from 7 to 330 kW, designed for agricultural, road-building and harvesting equipment, trucks and buses, power plants, compressors and other units. MMZ engines are supplied to conveyors of 49 enterprises in Belarus, CIS and non-CIS countries. The company sells into more than 40 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and Latin America.
