MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Minsk Motor Plant (MMZ trademark) has increased the export of engines to Cuba, BelTA learned from the press service of MMZ.

Due to the pandemic and disruptions in transport and logistics services, MMZ shipped only a dozen engines to Cuba in 2020. However, in 2021 the Cuban dealer working with Minsk Motor Plant has placed the order for more Belarusian engines.

Sixteen engines have already been shipped to Cuba. More than 30 will be exported in September. By the end of the year, the dealer is ready to sell more than three dozen engines.

“The engines will be used to upgrade used YuMZ tractors and ZiL vehicles. The following modifications will be sent to Cuba: D-242, D-245.9E2 and D-245.12S. In August and September, D-243 engines will be shipped as part of 260 tractors of Minsk Tractor Works that has also resumed deliveries to Cuba,” the press service informed.

It added that the Belarusian machinery will travel to another exotic destination in October. BELARUS-800 and BELARUS-92 tractors with MMZ engines D-243 and D-243.1 will be shipped to Sudan.
