Minsk, Beijing discuss pilot cargo transportation project

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) - The second meeting of the joint Belarusian-Chinese commission for international road transportation took place on 18 May with the active assistance of the Belarusian embassy in China, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in China.

The parties reached a number of agreements, including on the implementation of a pilot project on cargo transportation along the China-Belarus-China route and the exchange of permits for transportation.

Attending the meeting were representatives of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry, the State Customs Committee of Belarus, the Association of International Road Carriers BAMAP, heads of the Chinese Ministry of Transport, the China Transport Telecommunication Information Center, the Road Research Institute under the Chinese Ministry of Transport, the Professional Training Institute of the same ministry, and also representatives of the transport departments of Jilin and Inner Mongolia provinces, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China Road Transport Association.

The commission was established to consider the implementation of the agreement between the government of the Republic of Belarus and the government of the People's Republic of China on international road transportation of passengers and goods signed on 25 April 2019.
