MAZ vehicles made in Azerbaijan to be sold in third countries

BAKU, 4 February (BelTA-Trend) – Ganja Automobile Plant and Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) have signed a memorandum to intensify cooperation in the field of manufacturing, sales, establishment of service centers and promotion of MAZ vehicles on the markets of third states.

The memorandum was concluded by MAZ Director General Dmitry Katerinich and Director of Ganja Automobile Plant Khanlar Fatiyev.

The MAZ Director General and the Deputy Director General met with First Vice Premier of Azerbaijan Yaqub Eyyubov. The partners said they were satisfied with the work to produce MAZ trucks in Azerbaijan. They also discussed cooperation prospects, a possibility to sell MAZ vehicles manufactured in Azerbaijan on the markets of third countries and the efforts to increase production efficiency.

In March 2010 a tripartite agreement was signed by Ganja Automobile Plant, Minsk Automobile Plant and German company Haller to install the municipal equipment produced by the German company at the automobile division of Ganja Automobile Plant where MAZ vehicles are made.

The contract to assemble and sell in Azerbaijan of the entire lineup of MAZ trucks and MTZ tractors was signed in Minsk at the end of November 2006.

Ganja Automobile Plant restarted manufacturing in December 2004. Back then the company employed only 85 people; by now their number has reached 700. The company is able to assemble up to 1,000 trucks and 2,000 tractors per year. Ganja Automobile Plant assembles Belarus tractors, MAZ vehicles and manufactures various kinds of equipment for Belarus tractors. The machinery produced by the plant has a one-year warranty period. Its service maintenance is available in all the regions of Azerbaijan.
