MAZ to deliver 100 buses to Novosibirsk Oblast of Russia by 2016 year-end

MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – MAZ will deliver 100 buses to Novosibirsk Oblast of Russia by the end of the year, Alexander Dorokhovich, the head of the administration of Zavodskoy District of Minsk, said at a meeting in Minsk City Hall on 11 July, BelTA has learned.

The agreement on delivery was reached during a visit of the delegation of Zavodskoy District of Minsk to the Russian region. The visit took place at the invitation of the Mayor of Novosibirsk to participate in the City Day celebrations and also with a view to develop trade and economic ties.

Alexander Dorokhovich informed that during the visit, the delegation met with representatives of the Legislative Assembly of the region. As a result of meetings and discussions, concrete agreements were reached. The Russian side expressed its readiness to purchase 100 MAZ passenger buses running on compressed natural gas in the fourth quarter,” Alexander Dorokhovich noted.

In general, MAZ exported 1,940 vehicles to Russia in H1. Some 1,450 more MAZ buses will be exported to Russia before the end of the year.

The delegation also included representatives of VKT Konstrakshn (manufacture of specialized doors, steel entry doors and fire-proof partitions). This enterprise is the only one on the post-Soviet space which produces specialized products for sports and health facilities and has no competitors in the CIS across a wide range of manufactured products. When implementing new construction projects, Novosibirsk Oblast will make a choice in favor of the Belarusian manufacturer,” said Alexander Dorokhovich. The enterprise has been handed the list of planned construction projects to explore the export opportunities.

The head of the administration of Zavodskoy District of Minsk also added that during the visit, there was a proposal to hold a business forum in October this year to discuss the possibility of joint work and to identify specific projects for implementation.

A cooperation agreement between Zavodskoy District of Minsk and Dzerzhinsky District of Novosibirsk was signed on 28 June 2014. On 27 June 2015 Novosibirsk City Hall hosted a ceremony to sign a cooperation program for 2015-2016, which establishes an action plan for cooperation in economy and industry, education, sports and tourism, culture and youth policy.
