BREST, 13 November (BelTA) – Malorita Canning and Vegetable Dehydration Plant is considering ways to sell baby food into China, BelTA learned from Inessa Ivanova, head of the company’s department for marketing, sales, and foreign economic affairs.

“We are exploring the Chinese market. During the year, we hosted several Chinese delegations. They show interest in our products. We have sent a pilot batch of birch water. Now we are considering supplying baby food in doypack and glass package,” Inessa Ivanova said. The Malorita-based plant is currently looking for opportunities to export its products to other non-CIS countries. For instance, it has sent baby food samples to potential partners in Iran and Israel and samples of juices to the USA. Azerbaijani and Georgian companies are exploring the options for cooperation.

In January-October 2017, the plant manufactured over 4,000 tonnes and exported $2.886 million worth of products (from 35 to 40% of the production output), up by 77% against January-October 2016. The main sale market is Russia which buys baby food, juices, nectars, and tomato sauce. In 2017, the company expanded the supplies to Russian regions and started cooperating with chain stores. It also sold goods to partners in Kazakhstan and the Baltic states and delivered the first batches to Kyrgyzstan.

Malorita Canning and Vegetable Dehydration Plant is affiliated with the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom. The plant rolled out its first batch of products back in 1955. It manufactures fruit, vegetable, fruit and vegetable, fruit and berry juices, and purees.
