MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – A major transportation and logistics hub will be opened near the border checkpoint Berestovitsa at the Belarusian-Polish border on 10 October, BelTA learned from Director of OOO Bremino Group Oleg Bortsov on 1 October.

The executive said: “We opened a transportation and logistics hub near the border checkpoint Bruzgi in 2016. We will open another major transportation and logistics hub near the border checkpoint Berestovitsa in October. We expected the first transportation and logistics hub to process 800-900 trucks per month but it handles about 2,000 now. We expect the second hub to handle about 2,000 per month, too.”

New technologies have been used to build the transportation and logistics hub near the border checkpoint Berestovitsa. The hub is directly adjacent to the border checkpoint, this is why trucks do not have to enter Belarus’ territory. The feature allows hitching foreign trailers to Belarusian trucks, thus giving work to Belarusian forwarding agencies. “We’ve developed the technology together with the State Customs Committee. It will allow greatly improving the transit appeal of our country,” Oleg Bortsov is convinced.

The investment project to build transportation and logistics hubs in Bruzgi and Berestovitsa has been implemented in line with the investment contract signed by the Grodno Oblast administration and OOO VLATE Logistic, which is part of Bremino Group. Over Br65 million has been invested in building the two hubs. The transportation and logistics hub near the border checkpoint Berestovitsa comprises a warehouse of over 5,000m2, an administrative building of over 2,300m2, parking lots for cars and trucks, two checkpoints, and an engineering support building as large as 7,000m2. The hub has its own source of water and a wastewater treatment plant.

The transportation and logistics hub Bremino-Berestovitsa will offer customs clearance services, phytosanitary and veterinary control services, business banking services, and other ones.

The hub is expected to create over 110 jobs by the end of 2020.
