MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – The format of technoparks will be expanded in all regions of the country. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in his address to the nation and the parliament on 18 December, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko mentioned the importance of technological sovereignty and pointed out that the state provides assistance with that: from preferences to offering premises that are already ready for manufacturing. “One of these unique sites has been established in the territory of Motovelo Company – the Minsk City Technopark. Any entrepreneur can go there with their own business idea and start an innovative manufacturing enterprise. We are going to expand this format in all regions of the country. The process has begun,” the Belarusian leader cited a concrete example.

The president explained that he knowingly prioritizes technological sovereignty: “We have been tempered by the experience of so-called cooperation with the West. Using various levers intentional and systemic steps were taken to make us dependent on Western equipment and even minor components.”
