MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – It is important we scale up the lean management practices, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the Belarusian people and Parliament in Minsk on 18 December, BelTA has learned.
The president declared thrift and quality as “the axioms of competitiveness for Belarusian goods.” "The use of the tools that are widely used globally, so-called lean management, is still very fragmented in our country. Let’s do more within the framework of the revived state-level Quality Mark, which has become our most prestigious award for producers," the Belarusian leader outlined a future task.
The head of state emphasized that only quality and impeccable service ensure survival and additional income. “We can no longer sell our products abroad without providing maintenance services,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
A mandatory condition for successful sales is, without a doubt, high quality. This is especially relevant in the modern conditions of intense competition. “In the media, it's every time: a MAZ bus caught fire there, or it was set on fire somewhere else, and so on... We start investigating and nothing actually burned. That is competition. They are simply trying to pressure us in this way and show that our products are of poor quality,” Aleksandr Lukashenko explained citing specific examples.
At the same time, domestic producers still have work to do in terms of improving the quality of their goods.
