Lukashenko: No immigration-related tensions in Belarus thanks to social unity

MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – There are no tensions related to the forced immigration in Belarus thanks to the social unity, Belarus President said when answering questions of employees of OAO Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant on 14 August, BelTA has learned.

When commenting on the situation with the forced immigration in Europe, Alexander Lukashenko said that people from Libya, Syria which were devastated by military conflicts are ready to risk their lives and go to Europe. However, there are extremists among these people, too. “These countries should not have been destroyed. It would have been better to cooperate with them and share values with them,” Alexander Lukashenko said adding that he means true values, not the propaganda of homosexuality. “They wanted to impose these values on Arabs. But neither we nor Arabs will accept such things,” the head of state is convinced.

As for Belarus, it is a transit country which keeps migration under stringent control. Those who are trying to illegally go to Europe via Belarus are caught. “This is not a catastrophe for us, because our unity helps us cope with this issue,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

However, this process is a very dangerous one as Belarus is an open country which cannot close its borders on the crossroads of all routes, Alexander Lukashenko noted.
