MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko gave an instruction to step up the import substitution effort on the food market as he spoke at the second Congress of Scientists of Belarus on 13 December, BelTA has learned.
“We need to intensify import substitution on the Belarusian food market. The retail sales share of some imported food products remains unreasonably high,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The president instructed the Agriculture and Food Ministry to handle this task in the near future together with related organizations of the National Academy of Sciences.
