Lukashenko explains when Belarus will have no problems in economy

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – During a session of the Security Council Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko named one condition, under which Belarus will have no problems in economy at all, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “They [a number of western neighbors] have chosen this way and think that Americans or some Europeans will come and will pressure me. Listen, we have completely reorganized our work. And if we work more vigorously in economy starting with Vitebsk Oblast and ending with Gomel Oblast, we won’t have any problems at all. Our technologies, our goods are in demand in many parts of the planet. This is why if we improve quality a little bit (although nobody complains about our quality but we still need to work on quality), we will have no competition.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Belarus does not act like colonial countries. “For instance, we go to Africa in order to help them with technologies. We have appropriate machines and vehicles to match these technologies. We are a machine-building country with well-developed agriculture. For instance, in Kenya [prior to the Security Council session the president met with Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Kenya Amason Jeffah Kingi] they are ready to exploit oil deposits today. We are ready to get involved. We have specialists, who know how to do it,” the head of state said. “This is why we always come with good intentions. Not to mention our neighbors [with which Belarus is intent on promoting constructive cooperation a priori].”

“And if we go somewhere and hold negotiations with some people, then these efforts are not designed to harm third countries,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, it is in this manner that negotiations were held during his recent extensive business trip to Asian and African countries. And while the West chokes the relevant foreign partners, on the contrary, Belarus offers them friendship and cooperation. “States, people, authorities understand it perfectly well and are ready to build good relations with us,” the head of state stated.
