MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) - Unjustified intermediary activities must be immediately eliminated, Belarusian President Aleksandar Lukashenko said in his Address to the Belarusian people and Parliament on 18 December, BelTA has learned.
“I will inform you that I have tasked Deputy Chairman [of the Belarusian People’s Congress] Aleksandr Nikolayevich Kosinets to take up this matter of intermediaries immediately. To root it out completely. We are losing between 30% and 50% of the value simply because we are feeding the middlemen. Is this normal?” the president remarked critically and instructed the government to also immediately join the fight against unjustified intermediary practices.
As a negative example, Aleksandr Lukashenko cited the situation with the supply of growth regulators for rapeseed. The agriculture and food minister had been instructed by the head of state to purchase these preparations centrally and supply them to the regions. “So he spent about two months coordinating some additional decision while the rapeseed had already grown knee-high. Is that a normal situation?” the president said.
