Lukashenko calls for deeper ties with Laos, outlines promising areas

BISHKEK, 1 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Laos need to step up their cooperation, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting with Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek on 1 September, BelTA has learned.

“I think we need to step up cooperation between our two countries. We have a lot to offer your country, especially at this stage of development,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian president named mechanical engineering as one of the key areas of cooperation, noting that this involves joint production rather than just trade. “As a manufacturing nation, we are eager not only to trade in machinery but also to establish joint ventures based on industrial cooperation,” he assured.

“Along with transferring our technology, we are ready to train your specialists in our manufacturing processes,” he added.

The head of state also highlighted the food industry: “I know that your country needs certain food products. We are ready to step in here as well.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko also pointed to humanitarian cooperation. “We are ready to welcome your children to Belarus for wellness and recreation,” he said.

“To sum up, Mr. President, no topics are off-limits in our cooperation, from agriculture and food to the military-industrial complex. We are ready to work with you in this regard,” the Belarusian leader emphasized. “We will be glad to see you in Belarus at any time convenient for you.”
