MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – On 5 January Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 3 approving a draft agreement to establish a search service for protected industrial property within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) as a basis for negotiations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The international agreement defines the procedure for establishing a service within the EAEU to search for information on industrial property, including trademarks, service marks, geographical indications, and appellations of origin. The system will operate on the official EAEU portal and will be freely accessible to the public.
Implementing this document will enhance the protection of industrial property rights.
The Belarusian government has been authorized to conduct negotiations and to sign the draft agreement.
