Lesdrevtech 2021 forestry exhibition opens in Minsk

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) - The international exhibition of forestry and wood-processing technologies Lesdrevtech 2021 opened in Minsk, BelTA has learned. 

"The Forestry Ministry is responsible for solving many tasks, including reforestation, forest administration, etc.,” Forestry Minister Vitaly Drozha said at the opening of the exhibition.  “We are actively engaged in woodworking and have been strengthening our positions. Today we are one of the largest woodworkers. The industry has the most extensive fleet of logging and forestry vehicles."

According to him, the main goals facing the ministry are to provide domestic companies with raw materials and to preserve the forests that are used today for the future. "We must apply the most advanced technologies, mechanisms, equipment, constantly update our fleet of vehicles and tractors," the minister added.

The international exhibition of forestry and wood-processing technologies Lesdrevtech 2021 is running at Minsk Arena on 20-23 May. The exhibition has been organized by the Forestry Ministry and the BelExpo National Exhibition Center.

The exhibition aims to showcase the industry's achievements, to outline areas for the further development and to present the capacities of foreign participants interested in working in the Belarusian market.

The business program is going to be busy. It will include conferences, presentations, roundtables and a fair. The main topics will be production, sale and export of wood fuel, meeting the local demand. There will be meetings with experts, free consultations and a fair of forestry products.
