Kobyakov: Belarus, Russia always resolve emerging issues like partners

MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia have always found ways to resolve emerging issues, Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said in an interview with the Mir 24 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“We try not ‘to let sparks fly around’. If this does happen, we and our partners seek to find common ground as soon as possible,” the Prime Minister said.

In addition to the historic heritage, the Belarusian-Russian interaction has deep economic roots. Russia accounts for 50% of Belarus’ foreign trade. For the huge Russia, a relatively small Belarus might not seem so significant. But I would like to note that out of all countries Belarus is Russia’s fourth largest trading partner after China and Germany. This says a lot,” Andrei Kobyakov said.

Sophisticated equipment accounts for a significant share of Russia’s export to Belarus. “Belarus exports to Russia are the goods where Russian materials and components account for 30-70%. This is a very high level of integration,” the Belarusian Prime Minister said.
