Kazakhstan plans to step up industrial cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – Kazakhstan plans to step up industrial cooperation with Belarus and jointly enter the markets of third countries, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov said at a press conference held on 20 February to discuss the address of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the redistribution of powers between branches of government and the state-of-the-nation address Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness, BelTA has learned.

Yergali Bulegenov emphasized that the relations with Belarus have reached the level of strategic partnership. The diplomat believes that the global financial and economic crisis has certainly affected the cooperation. Still, the partnership between Belarus and Kazakhstan has passed the test of time and is steadily growing.

Yergali Bulegenov said that the good interpersonal relations between Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev play an important role in the Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation. "The heads of state have built bonds of friendship and trust. This allows for developing fruitful cooperation between the two countries," the diplomat noted.

The Belarus-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission chaired at the level of first deputy heads of the government has become an important instrument. "This is a very high level, which means that the activities are also coordinated at a very high level," Yergali Bulegenov said. The plans of action for the past several years have been successfully carried out. The meeting of the intergovernmental commission held in Gomel last summer established goals for further cooperation. The ambassador has no doubt that the goals will be achieved.

The diplomat also stressed the need for closer industrial cooperation and stronger bilateral relations. As the presidents of the two countries agreed, Belarus and Kazakhstan plan to raise their cooperation to a new level and establish more joint ventures to make products for selling to the markets of third countries.
