Israel invited to co-found international financial center in Belarus

MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) - Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich invited Israel to co-establish an international financial center in Belarus during a meeting with Tali Ploskov, deputy Knesset speaker, head of the Israel-Belarus interparliamentary friendship league on 9 June, BelTA has learned.

“We would like to set up an international financial center. This project could be quite relevant. If you helped us carry it out, we would be happy to work together with you,” Mikhail Myasnikovich remarked.

According to the politician, Belarus and Israel have a large potential for expanding cooperation in various fields. He cited Belarus-Israel interparliamentary relations as an example. “The two countries are successfully developing relations in the parliamentary dimension. This fills us with confidence that Belarus and Israel will effectively resolve political, economic, and international matters. Our countries have good prospects,” Mikhail Myasnikovich underlined.

He invited Tali Ploskov to talk over the prospects of Belarus-Israel trade, economic, and investment cooperation. “We have submitted for your consideration a number of potential investment projects,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted. According to him, Belarus-Israel relations need to advance from trade partnership to the establishment of joint ventures. Cooperation in pharmaceutics was named among the promising avenues of cooperation. Mikhail Myasnikovich suggested discussing the possibility of setting up joint ventures to co-produce pharmaceuticals and sell them in Belarus and export to other EAEU countries.
