India’s Cipla Limited to help build pharmaceutical R&D center in Belarus

MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) – A research and development center to produce medicines will be built in Belarus with the help of Indian pharmaceutical company Cipla Limited, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB).

A delegation of the Indian company is on a visit to Belarus on 5-8 August to discuss mechanisms to scale up cooperation between the NASB and Indian enterprises, to present promising areas of cooperation, to hold talks with the NASB administration and to discuss the concept of the R&D center named after Yusuf Hamied to be set up at the premises of the Academpharm company.

The R&D center is expected to manufacture most advanced medications using a complete cycle – from a scientific idea to manufacturing.

Founded in 1935, Cipla Limited is focused on development, chemical synthesis and production of over 1,500 ready-made medications of various forms. It offers antitumor medicines, bronchodilators, corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, chemotherapeutic and antiretroviral agents, antibiotics, antidepressants and other medicines. Cipla Limited is present in 150 countries across the globe.
