India invites Belarusian partners to take part in state programs

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – India invites Belarusian partners to take part in the implementation of state-run programs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Pankaj Saxena told BelTA after he presented his credentials to the Belarusian President.

The head of the diplomatic mission noted that Belarus and India have established strong friendship ties. He believes that the visit of the India President to Minsk in June 2015 gave an impetus to the cooperation. The Ambassador is convinced that the implementation of the agreements signed at the highest level will help the countries boost the bilateral trade.

Pankaj Saxena pointed out that a number of state-run programs are currently underway in India. He invited Belarusian economic entities to take part in their implementation. The Ambassador believes there is a great potential for strengthening the cooperation between Belarus and India in production sector and agriculture.

In January-November 2015, the trade between Belarus and India amounted to $425.4 million, 11% up from the same period of 2014. Belarus’ export increased by 45% to total $305.5 million. Belarus had a foreign trade surplus of over $180 million.
