IAEA training course on NPP integrated management system in Ostrovets

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) - The IAEA is holding a training course on introducing the integrated management system at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant in Ostrovets, BelTA learned from Eduard Svirid, head of the information and public relations department of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.

The training course will last until 29 January and will discuss the regulatory requirements and industry standards in quality assurance and management, the IAEA activities in the field of management systems. The experts will analyze the capabilities of control systems in terms of enhancing nuclear security, the safety culture, and the lessons learned from the use of such systems in nuclear projects.

Taking part in the workshop are specialists of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department at the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus (Gosatomnadzor), the Belarusian State Institute of Metrology, and others.

IAEA experts, representatives of the United States and Germany are taking part in the training course.
