According to Dao Duc Toan, the achievements of the Belarusian capital in the transport and social infrastructure development are in demand in Vietnam. Hanoi plans to implement a project to construct 11 metro lines. Agriculture, medicine and tourism can be promising areas of cooperation as well. “Hanoi is an open market. We have big opportunities for cooperation,” the head of the Vietnamese delegation noted.

The list of projects planned for implementation in Hanoi within the next decade will be submitted to the Belarusian side.

According to Andrei Shorets, partner relations between the two cities were established long time ago. At the same time the potential for cooperation is still hugely untapped. “It is necessary to fill the bilateral cooperation with concrete projects. Today’s meeting is an opportunity to discuss further steps towards each other,” he said. The Minsk mayor informed the guests about the products and services of Minsk companies which can be popular in Hanoi. The matter pertains first of all to the supplies of buses, trolleybuses, electric buses, healthcare products and equipment, projects of design institutes.

The head of the Vietnamese delegation invited representatives of the Minsk City Hall to Hanoi to get familiar with the city’s infrastructure and discuss cooperation areas.

The parties also discussed the implementation of joint cultural projects.

The delegation of Hanoi is on a visit to Minsk on 29 July – 1 August. The program of the visit includes a tour around the National Library and the familiarization with the public transport.

Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and the country’s second biggest city, its main political, educational and cultural center and the second biggest industrial hub (after Ho Chi Minh).
