MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – Advantages and opportunities offered by the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone will be presented at the World Investment Forum of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development that is taking place in Geneva on 22-26 October, BelTA learned from the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus.

Participants of the session “Special economic zones: Challenges and opportunities” that will be held on 26 October will be able to learn more about advantages and operation terms of the Great Stone park.

Earlier, during the session “Talking Business: Eastern Europe and Central Asia” Belarus’ delegation introduced the audience to the country’s macroeconomic situation, terms of doing business, including preferences for investors, as well as plans to improve the investment climate of the country.

Apart from that, representatives of major Swiss companies were told about Belarus’ investment opportunities and business climate on the venue of the Franck Muller company. Taking part in the event were about 50 Swiss manufacturers, investment funds and banks, including ABB, Stadler, 1st Trust, SoBa Bank, Genthod Global Wealth Management, and Dupont Investments Sarl. Most of the questions raised by the Swiss business people dealt with taxes, foreign currency transactions and Decree No. 8 on promoting digital economy. On the sidelines of the forum, representatives of Belarus and Switzerland agreed to arrange a number of events for the Swiss business community in spring 2019.

Belarus’ country pavilion was presented at the Investment Village exposition for the first time. Participants of the forum will be able to get detailed information about investment opportunities of Belarus. The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone was the strategic project of the country pavilion.
