Governor: Belarusian products enjoy great demand in Russia's Far East

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Primorsky Krai residents are confident of high quality of Belarusian products, Primorsky Krai Governor Oleg Kozhemyako told the media after a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 25 March, BelTA has learned.

"It is very important for our people to have access to high-quality organic products from Belarus. We see that our consumers respect, trust the quality of Belarusian products and willingly consume them," the governor said.

When asked about the grounds for an increase in the bilateral trade this year, he said: "This is the willingness to work, the experience that we have accumulated over the years, our trade and partnership relations. These are the challenges of time that require us to work more intensively."

Oleg Kozhemyako is in favor of making a greater use of Belarusian equipment in various sector of the regional economy. "The dynamics is good. We will keep it going both in supplies of elevators, utility vehicles, food... Our cooperation is mutually beneficial," he assured.

Belarus and Russia’s Primorsky Krai are also implementing interesting projects in agriculture. The parties have signed agreements on seed production, potato planting and fruit and vegetable farming. "And on scientific and experimental garden for 200 hectares, which has not happened in Primorsky Krai for about 30 years," Oleg Kozhemyako said.

But, perhaps, one of the largest joint projects may be implemented in construction. This is the construction of a large cultural and exhibition center which will house Primorsky Stage of Mariinsky Theater, exhibitions of famous Russian museums. The governor expects that the facility will become a real architectural gem of the entire Asia-Pacific region.

Construction of Belarus’ trading house in Vladivostok is on track to be complete this autumn.
