MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin has signed a resolution to approve the state program “Transport of Belarus” for 2026-2030, BelTA learned from the government press service.
Developed to meet the needs of the economy and population for competitive, efficient transport services, the program aims to ensure the effective, sustainable operation and intellectualization of the transport system. It comprises four subprograms: “Rail Transport,” “Road and Urban Passenger Transport,” “Water Transport,” and “Air Transport.”
Over the next five years, implementation will focus on key priorities, including improving the efficiency and environmental friendliness of technological processes through the modernization of rail and road rolling stock and the aircraft fleet; enhancing the accessibility of transport infrastructure; boosting the efficiency of inland waterway transport; and developing air transport infrastructure and air travel.
The program consists of 27 specific events and 19 infrastructure projects, with total funding estimated at Br7.8 billion.
