Good progress on building Belarusian nuclear power plant

OSTROVETS, 25 August (BelTA) – The completion rate of the first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant stands at 80%, that of the second unit – 60%, BelTA learned from Mikhail Filimonov, Director General of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.

“The readiness of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is reflected by an integrated indicator resulting from a complicated formula. The first unit is at 80% completion while the second one is close to 60%,” said Mikhail Filimonov.

Construction operations are being finished now. Equipment installation is in progress. “Finishing the construction work is the main stage. We are doing fine. We are getting ready for the nuclear fuel delivery, which is scheduled for late 2018,” added the director general.

Mikhail Filimonov took part in the opening ceremony of fire station No.3 in Ostrovets on 25 August. The district capital celebrated the 550th anniversary since its foundation that day.
