Good opportunities for Belarus’ cooperation with Ulyanovsk Oblast in manufacturing sector
MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko identified promising avenues of cooperation as he met with Governor of Russia’s Ulyanovsk Oblast Alexei Russkikh, BelTA has learned.
Roman Golovchenko mentioned a number of avenues of Belarus’ cooperation with Ulyanovsk Oblast. Aircraft manufacturing is one of them.
The prime minister said: “Some progress has been secured in this avenue. We have signed a program on developing aircraft manufacturing at the federal level. It determines practical avenues of cooperation. I am convinced that the realization of the program will contribute to the accomplishment of the tasks facing aircraft designers and aircraft manufacturers now.”
In his words, manufacturing cooperation between automobile producers continues. Those are primarily the Russian automaker UAZ and the Russian engine manufacturer UMZ.
Roman Golovchenko went on saying: “We are stepping up deliveries of Belarusian automobile components to assembly lines of these enterprises. Focused work is in progress to start production of new modules, parts, and components. We see very good dynamics of growth of shipments. Today our enterprises should look deeper into the future. They should implement the appropriate solutions to design and make modules and components for the models that will roll off assembly lines in the future.”
The Belarusian head of government mentioned the accomplishments secured in manufacturing import-substituting vehicles, machines, and equipment.
The prime minister said: “There is a certain positive solution with regard to the production of semitrailers based on MAZ chassis for Ulyanovsk Oblast. Samples have been manufactured and are going through the certification process. We intend to be able to make about 100 units.”
Apart from that, he dwelled on the areas where the sides will have to establish tighter cooperation. First and foremost, civil engineering.
“Significant projects, which can be implemented with assistance of Belarusian civil engineering enterprises, are absent for now. The matter of deliveries of elevator equipment has not been fully explored either,” Roman Golovchenko added.
Apart from that, there is a great potential for advancing cooperation in agriculture.
“I mention these areas primarily on the basis of the positive experience we have in cooperation with other regions of the Russian Federation,” the prime minister stated.
