Gomselmash to supply first Palesse grain harvester to Pakistan

GOMEL, 17 March (BelTA) – The Gomel-based mechanical engineering company Gomselmash has concluded a contract to supply the first grain harvester KZS-575 Palesse GS575 to Pakistan, BelTA learned from Yuri Rafeyev, the head of the department for sales to non-CIS countries at Gomselmash.

Relevant documents were signed during the recent meeting of the Belarusian-Pakistani commission for trade and economic cooperation. “The launch of export of automotive agricultural machinery to Pakistan is a very important event for us. Before we used to sell only training units, such as shredders and mower conditioners to that country,” Yuri Rafeyev said.

The specialist believes that the cooperation with Pakistani farmers holds great prospects, since Pakistan is a big country with a large population, and it has a well-developed agriculture sector. The talks that were held as part of the meeting of the commission for trade and economic cooperation confirmed this. “Maybe it is too early to talk about their results, but I hope that the delivery of the first grain harvester will mark the beginning of a great future cooperation,” Yuri Rafeyev stressed.

Pakistan’s agricultural sector is comprised mostly of small owner-operated farms with sometimes less than one hectare of land. Therefore, the grain harvester KZS-575 Palesse GS575 is likely to be a good choice for them. “It is small, mobile, and is designed primary for agricultural enterprises with relatively small cultivated area under cereal crops and wedge shaped fields. We will see if our guesses are right after the harvester is tested,” Yuri Rafeyev said.

Gomselmash is a major manufacturer of agricultural machines. The company offers grain and forage harvesters, corn and potato harvesters, mowers and other kinds of agricultural machines under the brand Palesse. The Palesse family includes 16 types of agricultural machines, 75 basic models and modifications, 70 kinds of adapters and implements designed for harvesting various kinds of crops.
