Gomselmash to boost exports to Ukraine by 50%

KIEV, 10 April (BelTA) - The Belarusian agricultural machinery engineering company Gomselmash plans to ramp up exports to Ukraine by 50%, Dmitry Mulyar, head of the company’s marketing center, told BelTA on the sidelines of Made in Belarus expo.

Gomselmash views the Ukrainian market as a priority, Dmitry Mulyar underlined. “Last year, we sold there around 100 combine harvesters. In 2018 we plan to boost the exports by 50% and supply 150 vehicles. We expect to increase our exports to 800 vehicles a year by 2030 and achieve a 50% market share,” the Gomselmash representative said. In his words, most of the vehicles sold to Ukraine are harvesters-threshers.

“Gomselmash exported a total of $200 million worth of products in 2017. Our key market is the CIS, in particular Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. All in all, we sold vehicles to 36 countries. We branched out into Egypt, India, and Sudan. We will keep increasing the exports this year, too. Moreover, we have sealed a deal with Zimbabwe. We are also working on the African market,” Dmitry Mulyar added.

Made in Belarus expo is taking place at the Kiev International Exhibition Center on 10-14 April. Taking part in the exhibition are more than 50 Belarusian companies that have displayed their latest products in mechanical engineering and petrochemistry, transport and logistics, agriculture and food, light industry and tourism.

The exhibition in Kiev also includes a business program with presentations of Belarusian enterprises. The key event of the business program was the conference "Ukraine-Belarus: prospects for cooperation". The event was attended by representatives of government bodies of the two countries, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the organizer of the Made in Belarus expo in Kiev. The operator is the exhibition company Belinterexpo. The event is held with the assistance of the Belarusian Embassy in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and government bodies and business associations of Belarus and Ukraine.
