Gomel Oblast companies sign contracts worth almost $80m at Forum of Regions in Zhitomir

GOMEL, 3 October (BelTA) – Companies of Belarus’ Gomel Oblast signed $79.1 million worth of commercial contracts with Ukrainian partners at the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine in Zhitomir on 3 October, spokesperson for the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Olga Ryabikova told BelTA.

The documents were signed at the 8th session of the Belarus-Ukraine advisory council on business cooperation. Gomel Chemical Plant concluded a memorandum of cooperation with Kernel Trade. The document envisages cooperation in the development of agrochemical technologies to grow crops with the help of fertilizers of Gomel Chemical Plant and also chemical technologies to produce nitrogen-phosphorus and nitrogen-phosphorus-potash fertilizers that meets the requirements for growing agricultural crops taking into account climatic, soil and other characteristics of certain Ukrainian regions.

Belarusian Steel Works – Management Company of the Belarusian Metallurgical Company (BMZ) signed an agreement on deliveries with Premiorri (Bila Tserkva, Kiev Oblast) for 2020. According to Belarusian Steel Works, the company holds the leading position among metal cord suppliers to the Ukrainian market. This year the Belarusian company has also sold fittings, various types of rolled products, rolled wire, pipes and bead wire to Ukraine.

Milkavita signed a long-term contract with Moltrade Ukraine. The document envisages the delivery of the whole lineup of products made at the Gomel company. The Ukrainian partners are most interested in whey and skimmed milk powder.

Gomelkooptorresursy and Trade Polymer (Brovary, Kiev Oblast) will cooperate in film waste projects.

The Gomel Oblast delegation led by Governor Gennady Solovei includes more than 100 people: representatives of government bodies, business circles, and companies. Gomel companies (Gomselmash, BMZ, Belorusneft, Gomel Chemical Plant) have displayed their products at the exhibition of large-scale equipment in Zhitomir. Gomel Oblast artisans are representing the region at a trade show of arts and crafts held as part of the forum.
