Georgian premier visits Made in Belarus expo in Tbilisi

MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – Georgia’s Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze took part in the opening ceremony of the Made in Belarus exhibition that kicked off in Tbilisi on 20 March and will run till 23 March, the exhibition organizing enterprise BelinterExpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) told BelTA.
Attending the opening ceremony were also Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy, Belarus’ Ambassador to Georgia Mikhail Myatlikov, Georgian Ambassador to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia Nino Chikovani, BelCCI Deputy Chairman Sergei Nabeshko, government officials and business people from the two countries. They studied Belarus’ exposition and spoke highly of the products and services on display. The opening ceremony was followed by a session of the Georgia-Belarus Business Council that discussed ways to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the expo, the central part of the Expo Georgia center turned into a ‘Belarusian home’, with over 70 companies showing off their products. Belarus’ delegation featured about 150 representatives of companies, ministries and concerns. Some of the companies already operate on the Georgian market; others came to find business partners in Tbilisi.
It was the first time the Made in Belarus expo used a new logo featuring a flax flower in national colors framed by a pentagonal figure resembling the state seal of excellence. The flower petals are depicted as people holding hands, which serves to convey an idea of popular unity and common work in the name of the country’s independence, uniqueness and well-being.
“It has already become a good tradition to hold Belarusian expos in Georgia every year. It is a testimony to robust development of bilateral contacts: the assortment of merchandise is getting bigger, stores selling national products open in Tbilisi and Minsk. In 2016 the Georgian capital hosted a Belarusian national exhibition. In 2017 and 2018 Belarus set up large national pavilions at the AgroFood international expo in Tbilisi,” BelinterExpo informed.
The Made in Belarus expo is organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with support of the Belarusian Embassy in Georgia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia, Tbilisi municipal administration, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Belarusian ministries and government agencies. BelinterExpo is the exhibition operator.
