French company plans to launch construction of 3 hotels in Belarus in 2015

MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – The French company Accor is planning to launch the construction of three hotels in Grodno, Brest, and Borisov in 2015, Ambassador of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko said at the opening of the 1st Belarusian-French business forum on 12 February, BelTA has learned.

“The company Accor takes part in the construction of a number of hotels in our country. The experts have chosen three construction sites in Grodno, Brest, and Borisov where they will launch the construction of three Ibis hotels in 2015,” Pavel Latushko said.

Pavel Latushko also remarked that the parties are mulling over the project to build the sport medicine center. “We are discussing the project with a big private Belarusian company which is interested in setting up such a healthcare facility with the participation of French investors in Minsk,” the Ambassador stressed.

The construction of hotels by Accor will help raise the tourist attractiveness of Belarus, promote business contacts with France and other European countries.

Accor Group, the world's leading hotel operator and market leader in Europe, is present in 92 countries with more than 3,600 hotels and 460,000 rooms. The company earned €5.536 billion in 2013. The company is designing and building about 780 hotels with 139,000 rooms.

The Belarusian-French business forum which brought together companies from more than 15 cities of ten French regions takes place in Minsk on 12 February. Over 50 Belarusian and 58 French companies have an opportunity to hold bilateral talks. French participants of the forum will be made familiar with the export and investment potential of Belarus, and with the experience of work of foreign companies on the Belarusian market.
