French companies to visit Belarus soon

MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) – An agreement to cooperate in the organization of a visit for representatives of big French companies to Belarus was reached at a meeting between Belarus’ Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko and new Director of the Continental Europe Department of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Florence Mangin on 2 September, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in France.

Pavel Latushko presented Belarus’ visions on the development of economic and political cooperation with France. The parties also talked over mutual relations between Belarus and the European Union.

Pavel Latushko and Florence Mangin took note of active cooperation in the economic sector. Among successful examples of close economic contacts in a number of joint events and the implementation of projects in Belarus by France’s biggest companies such as Accor, Danone, PSA Peugeot-Citroen and others.

“The sides reached an agreement to jointly cooperate in the organization of a visit for representatives of big French companies to Belarus in the near future,” the embassy said.

The parties confirmed mutual interest in the organization of the 2nd meeting of the Belarusian-French commission on economic cooperation and the 2nd Belarusian-French business forum which are due in the first half of 2016.

Pavel Latushko and Florence Mangin emphasized the priority of economic cooperation in bilateral relations. The parties praised the intensification of the dialogue between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

The meeting also focused on the action plan to sign the Belarusian-French agreements in transport, environmental protection, and double taxation avoidance. The parties stressed that the vigorous cultural cooperation between Belarus and France promotes better environment for the development of bilateral relations in other areas.

Pavel Latushko informed the representative of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the development of the Belarusian-French regional cooperation, and the plans to hold Belarus’ economic presentations in a number of big French cities: Toulouse, Lyon and others.
