MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Despite the toughening of illegal sanctions by Western countries in 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued to take consistent steps to defend Belarus' economic interests, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said addressing the final board meeting of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA reports.
Such measures included redirecting of exports from the West to other markets, the mitigation of the negative impact of restrictions and the development of new logistics routes and banking schemes.
“Despite the efforts of the West, Belarus not only made up for the loss of exports to unfriendly countries, but also performed better than expected in other areas. As a result, in 2024 the export of goods and services rose by 3.5%, or $1.7 billion,” Maksim Ryzhenkov noted.
