First startup complex of Belarusian truck factory in Vietnam in commission by late May

MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – The first startup complex of the MAZ Asia factory in Vietnam will be commissioned by the end of May, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko on 10 April.

According to the source, the construction of a factory is nearing completion in Vietnam as part of the joint venture MAZ Asia. The first startup complex of the factory will be commissioned by the end of May 2018. It is designed to make 2,000 vehicles per annum. All the construction work has been done. Equipment is being installed now. The construction of the second stage is about to begin. The local authorities have allocated an extra 5.5 ha for this project. The second stage is supposed to be commissioned in 2020. Once it is commissioned, 3,500 vehicles will be made in Vietnam per annum.

According to Vladimir Semashko, the first stage of the factory will focus on making trucks. The second stage will make utility vehicles (concrete mixers, loaders, cranes, and other kinds).

Speaking about presence on the Vietnamese market, Vladimir Semashko noted that two 90-tonne BelAZ dump trucks had been shipped to the country for trials. The dump trucks have been found satisfactory in all the operational parameters. More deliveries are being discussed, said the official.
